The KAC’s boys soccer team exceeded our expectations by returning home undefeated from both their Temple and Wimberly tournaments. Our cardinals won 6 out of 6 games, scoring 24 goals in total and only conceding three goals.
In Temple, their first game was against Round Rock High School. The final score ended up being 5-0, KAC taking the win. Team captain Luis Uriostegui scored twice. As for the rest of the team, Victor Landin scored once, Reynaldo Reyna scored once, and Kevin Leon scored once as well.
The second game of the tournament was against Manor High School, and once again the Cardinals absolutely destroyed the competition. An outstanding seven goals were scored thanks to James Santiago, Kevin Leon, Luis Uriostegui, Ricardo Torres, and Victor Landin.
The final game was against the hosts themselves, Temple High School, which the Cardinals won 4-1. Kevin Leon and Victor Landin each scored one goal and James Santiago scored twice.
Unfortunately, some confusion happened at the end of the Temple tournament. Despite winning all of three games KAC did not advance to the tournament’s second round due to a technicality. But, there would be a 2nd preseason tournament at Wimberley.

In this tournament, the first game was against Lockhart, and the Cardinals won 2-0 with Luis Uriostegui again starting off the tournament strong with two goals.
KAC’s 2nd game was against the host themselves. It was a tight contest but a goal from Victor Landin managed to give the Cardinals the win.
The last game of the tournament was against Idea Montopolis. In a hard-fought game, KAC ended the game by taking the win 5-2 with two goals from Victor Landin, one goal from Fernando Balderas, one goal from Emmanuel Lopez, and one goal from James Santiago. Truly, a fantastic preseason all-around.
After the tournaments, the KAC Boys Soccer team is slowly but surely preparing for the start of the regular season, which begins on Saturday, February 12th with a double header for both JV and Varsity teams.
