April 26th all students in SNHS gathered after school to celebrate their year’s accomplishments and say their goodbyes to the seniors. The president, Francisco Morales, better known as Francis by his friends, opened up with a speech to his fellow members. Francisco talked about things they did this year like the Valentines Grams Fundraiser, their work on keeping our science hallway decorated, and their work on First Thursday, and many of their other accomplishments.

Sophomore Assistant Principal, George Ramirez, also gave an emotional speech thanking all of the members and saying his farewells to the seniors who’ve done so much this school year despite the pandemic. The ceremony not only celebrated these accomplishments, but acknowledged the organization’s ability to bounce back despite many plans being put on halt because of COVID restrictions. Senior leaders were able to receive their stoles and senior members received their cords in front of their parents and the STEM team who were welcomed to celebrate with students. Leaders Francisco, Emmanuel, and Mar received their recognition during the ceremony for leading SNHS into a greatly successful year alongside directors Jennifer N, Casandra N, Hiromi G, Adriana O, Yeimi D, Cinthia V, Daniela Y, Perla C, Martha G, Isabel R, Isabel G, and Jocelyn V.

But with seniors leaving, junior leaders were able to be inducted. The ceremony was bittersweet as junior members took the pledge to ensure they work hard to continue SNHS’s legacy and traditions.

To also celebrate their year’s success SNHS took a trip to the UT telescope to observe the twin stars from the unicorn constellation, a tradition for members.
