On December 13, 2022, all of the KAC Steel Drum Band classes came together to perform in the gym for the annual Winter Fest Show.
The band, the Beginner Steel Drum class and the Advanced Class all performed. The first ones to play music were the band students. After the band students played, the beginning steel drum class went after. The crowd of parents were very excited to see their children perform.
The advanced steel drum class played 4 songs in total for the crowd: “Clearing,” with a loud tune intended to excite the crowd of parents, “Calypso Blues,” a low, soft song, “Pyxis,” a song with a strong and fast tempo that recalled the opening song, and then the group’s most impressive feat, “Savannah Grass.” The last song was intended to show the crowd the band’s skill, since it had very complex notes and the student musicians only had a short time to learn the piece.
