The 2023-2024 season has officially kicked off for the Lady Cardinals basketball team. Now, a few weeks into the season, they are already off to a great start. So far they are already on a 4-game winning streak with a perfect 4-win 0-loss record.
“The season is going amazing,” said Junior Genesis Robles. She feels that the team is more dedicated and more collaborative this season. She feels that the team has very high potential, good chemistry, and feels they could even win the state championship. She has noticed a tremendous leap in her play this year on the defensive end as well.
Senior Kendall Martin also has a promising feeling about this season. She said she notices more fight within the team to strive and meet their goals. She also believes they have the potential to make it to the state championship. She sees a lot of growth in herself compared to last year, like being more aggressive and confident with the ball. “We can communicate pretty well with each other, we can disagree and be fine and bounce back”, said Martin, showing that the team has great understanding amongst each other.
The Varsity Girls basketball team seems to be striving for the ultimate goal of a championship trophy. Hopefully in a few months that will prove to be true.
