OMG Squee: Austin’s Kawaiiest Café

OMG Squee first opened up in 2020 during the pandemic in the East Austin Neighborhood area. This café is an inspiration of Asian culture and they specialized in Mochi Donuts, Boba Drinks, Macarons, and Ice cream. Also they sell cute merchandise that represent their café.

As I never thought I could ever find something so cute and delicious and have over different menus changes of their mochi donut and ice cream. They specialize in decorating with cute Japanese characters such as their famous design inspiration from Studio Ghibli. Sadly they sold out and will come back once they announce their new menus.

As we arrived at the location it was a very cute pink café with a patio entrance of a small amount of limited chairs and tables. As we got inside it was small, but cute and basic so many japanese based items such as cute cat figurines. On the right side you can see their  merchandise and in front of the cash register they are also selling cute foodie stickers that represent their café. As we looked at their menus, we had trouble ordering off their menu since there are so many options. So in the end we just ordered the “Black Sesame Churro”, “Lemon butter”, “Tiramisu”, “Classic Chocolate” and one UBE macaron. And also order boba drinks and a Thai Tea ice cream.

As we got our mochi donuts and macaron they all came in one pink box with their cute logo of their café.  Me and a acquaintance of mine first tried the Lemon butter and Classic chocolate mochi donut and all I can say is “how could you not eat such an adorable mochi donut with such a cute face!”, but in the end we ate the mochi donut and it was delicious and said to be gluten free so it was good for your health. Next we ate the tiramisu and black sesame churro. When I first tasted the tiramisu mochi donut tasted nothing but a little bit of caffeine, still good at the end. My acquaintance then tasted their black sesame churro donut and their UBE macaron. It tasted like a normal but the texture of a common donut and the UBE macaron tasted like chocolate. Next my other acquaintance bought a ice cream which was the Thai Tea ice cream as we gave one bit of it had no sweet taste it had a flavor of regular tea, it didn’t turn much of our taste, but is your a huge fan of flavor tea with no sugar than this ice cream is for you.

Buying this was easy for one soft and gluten free mochi donut that cost about $3.50 each, for the one macarons we bought was just $2.85, and finally for drinks about 4 to 5 dollars if you wanted to add boba with it then it’s $1. Buying one of their merchandise costs somewhere around 20 to 25 dollars.

Overall, we highly recommend this place if you love the pink or cute and adorable decorated mochi animals and characters then recommend this place to people around you bring them here for cute café dates and hangout with your friends, but I recommend not coming here when temperatures are so cold in Austin if you don’t want your friends outside being so cold outside of their small patio. But do come and their cutest café desserts and drinks.
