There are many Mexican restaurants in Austin that are very delicious, but you haven’t tried Casa Chapala’s food because this is paradise. If you ever want to try Mexican food or looking for a place that has many different dishes of Mexican food and want a place to have an event in, then Casa Chapala is the restaurant for you.
Casa Chapala was opened in 1987 and you can find it at 9041 Research Blvd, Ste 100, Austin Tx 78758. Its unique decorations style gives this restaurant its spectacular view and when walking in, the host sits you in just a few seconds. In the restaurant, you get the option of sitting indoors or outdoors and in the outdoor area it’s mostly blocked but you still be able to see the cars pass by and even have fans on the ceilings so in the hot weather, you dont sweat and have a cool area to sit in. I went during the night which had many lights and there was even live music as well as a couch area where you can just sit and talk with people. In the indoor area, you get to sit in booths and have a bar where you can sit in but it’s obviously for adults. There is also an area with no interruptions where you can host an event like a birthday party and has 15 tables and then there is even a VIP area for events which is in the outdoor area but closed off since it has its own little section.
After being seated, the waiter quickly asks for drinks and they even make the salsa in front of you and ask how spicy you want your salsa and they also give you chips to eat while waiting for your food and the chips are extremely incredible. The menus are clean and readable and give you pictures of each dish and drink and after 30 minutes they give you your food. I ended up ordering una parrillada de fajita and pollo with grilled red and green peppers with beans and rice and a side of guacamole which in total was $48.99 and coke and it was pretty fantastic. I also decided to get dessert and I got fried ice cream and it was vanilla topped with chocolate drizzled with a lot of ice cream which was $8.99 and it was pretty delicious and so full that I couldn’t finish the ice cream.
Overall, Casa Chapala has amazing food and wonderful desserts that you really have to try. It has its unique style of decorations and sections of the restaurant you want to sit in and have fun activities like live music, that makes this restaurant such an event. The servers are very nice and patient and there’s even people that come and take pictures of your family that in just a few minutes gives you the pictures in frames and for free as well, so you can remember your day in the restaurant.
