With summer approaching, having a good place to have refreshing snacks is appreciated. So we decided to try Kokos Mexican Snacks, located at 747 Hwy 71 W Suite A 600 Bastrop, Texas.

The first thing we noticed was the bright colors decorating the place, piñatas hung from the ceiling, and pictures of their products decorating the place. The place is small yet spacious, with multiple tables and sitting options; there is even an outside sitting area for those hot summer days approaching!

For the food, they have a variety of snacks at an affordable price. Starting off with a few snacks, we were able to try: a mangonada,a refreshing dessert made with mangos and topped with chamoy and chili powder. Chamoyada, a spicy drink of shaved ice, also with chamoy and chili powder. Elote entero chorreado, corn in a cob covered with spicy cheeto dust and chese, served with a plate of hot cheetos on the side. Manzana loca, apple slices covered in chamoy and tajin with gummies and Japanese nuts in the middle. Maruchan loca, ramen noodles served with a topping of hot cheetos, sour cream, salsa, and chilli powder. Finally, agua fresca de mango, freshwater made of mango. Although the menu has a variety of snacks, these are a few that stood out to us the most, as they contained a mixture of a sweet and sour taste. They don’t just offer snacks, as their menu also consists of main course food options like different style hot dogs, hamburgers, and tortas if you’re feeling hungry for more than just a snack.  Overall, we were happy with our picks. They all had a good taste, and they had great customer service.

The commute from school to Bastrop took us about 45 minutes, so it was a long car ride, but we highly encourage anyone who lives in the Elgin-Bastrop area to give this snack shop a try!
