Senior Skip Day (allegedly) occurred on May 3, 2024. Although the event is not officially recognized by KAC, seniors traditionally coordinate a day in their last month of school to miss class, accepting the consequence of an unexcused absence. This year, many went out in groups while others chose to be on their own. Some of the activities seniors chose to do were to go out to rivers/pools, going tubing, staying home, etc.
Seniors anxiously waited for the day to go off on their own and the time finally came! A lot of planning was required for those friend groups that decided to do a special activity. One senior who will remain anonymous revealed to the Cardinal Post that he and friends decided to go tubing in Texas Tubes located in New Braunfels. However, the process wasn’t easy. The senior said “We were planning two weeks in advance, but we couldn’t find the actual place.”
Along with a group of friends, this senior said their day consisted of getting breakfast, driving to their destination, and beginning their activity. On a last minute plan overnight to go tubing, the friend group prepared themselves for their day. Once they arrived at their destination they spent all their time having fun and enjoying the day.
When asking this senior what is one thing he could’ve changed about senior skip day he responded “I personally would’ve done a big skip day with all the seniors… But sadly, I feel like the class of 2024 isn’t as united as we should’ve been”.
“The best memory I’m gonna have of senior skip day is when we went to H-E-B to buy phone covers and we found a mariachi and [anonymous] started dancing with him”
