Many people are fond of music; it’s a special thing you hear everywhere, no matter where you are throughout your day. Music can hold a special place in many people’s hearts, and emotions play a big role when it comes to music, as it is one of the most powerful ways our brains choose to react to the melody of the songs. But have you ever wondered if music could be the one thing that unlocks the hearts of others with its beautiful, breathtaking harmonizing rhythm?

Here at KAC, we are known for having a guitar class with many talented students. Their passion for the guitar is something their hearts admire. The relaxing feeling of being able to play something with their own hands while listening to the tunes coming from the instruments they cherish is unmatched. 11th-grader Mia Jaramillo, says that while playing the guitar, “I feel a sense of calmness and enjoyment when playing the guitar. I can express my emotions by just playing a couple of strings without even having to say a word.”

10th-grade student Rafael Lara agrees. “Playing the guitar is a way to express your feelings,” he said, “even when there’s nothing to really express. It comes suddenly when you least expect it.”

These talented students make music as part of their everyday lives. During this special month of February, they have taken the opportunity to share their opinions about the connection music creates between people.

“Music is one of the most powerful ways to express your feelings toward a loved one. It captures the attention of your target and creates a strong emotional connection between each other,” claimed Lara.

Music throughout history has always been loved and cherished by many. The introduction of different genres is one of the most intriguing developments we’ve seen through the years. Without music, there wouldn’t be a soft, sensitive place in our hearts that we could dedicate to listening. Jaramillo adds that without music, there wouldn’t be a getaway from reality that helps us reduce stress and create enjoyable connections with others.

In the short video above, Jaramillo and Lara demonstrate how people can play a specific song for their loved ones while showcasing their wonderful talent during this beautiful month of love.
