To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is a romance/comedy movie that is based on teenage romance and how embarrassing it can be at times which is a topic that I’m sure most people can relate to. This movie was released in 2018 and it stars actors Lara Condor and Noah Centineo. This movie quickly skyrocketed making it one of the most popular rom-coms released on Netflix.
The plot of this movie is about a high school girl named Lara Jean Covey and how she has written 5 love letters to some of her “intense” crushes. When these letters get sent out/released her life is turned upside down but after a long wait and a lot of ups and downs throughout the movie, at the end it brings her and her future boyfriend together.
This movie gives one of the biggest and most enjoyable plot twists in the rom-com genre. When the movie goes into the parts where Lara Jean and Peter start fake dating the main character Lara Jean realizes that after a while of fake dating Peter she had actually fallen for him. As the movie progresses we also learn that Peter had also deeply fallen for Lara Jean.
One of the reasons that this movie is very enjoyable is the fact that since its a high school teenage romance, a lot of people can relate to that. This movie is also a very favorite movie not just because of its unique plot line but also because of its lovable and memorable characters. Not only did this movie become one of the most popular rom-com movies but it also reached their intended audience which is early teens to late teens.
