The gym buzzed with energy, emotions running high as Senior Night unfolded—a celebration to the players who had given their heart and soul to the game.

Parents, friends, and fans packed the bleachers, holding signs to show their pride. As seniors Genesis Robles and Mariah Krupalla were introduced, the crowd erupted into applause. One by one they walked out, escorted by their families. “I felt nervous, sad, and a lot of excitement as I walked out,” Robles stated.

After Robles opened up the game with a deep three, Krupalla followed right behind her. Krupalla scored three 3-pointers in the game, making her presence known. Both seniors made it clear to the Wizards that this game was theirs, and they were not going to be defeated.

For these seniors, it was more than just a game—it was a culmination of years of dedication, early morning practices, and countless memories. Some smiled, soaking in every moment, while others couldn’t hold back tears, cherishing this final opportunity to stand tall on their home court. They were putting all their hard work to use on their last home game before they graduate and move on in life.

The Cardinal girls, led by the seniors playing, put everything they learned, everything they worked hard for and put it all together to continue to dominate them throughout the whole game. The night wasn’t just about emotions, though—it was about legacy. Younger teammates watched with admiration, knowing they had big shoes to fill. They saw what the seniors were doing and as they were watching they saw how hard work and talent work together to achieve something big. And when the final buzzer sounded, it wasn’t just the score that mattered, but the impactful mark these seniors left on the program, and on the hearts of everyone in the gym.

In the end the Cardinals took the win, beating IDEA Pflugerville by 20 and setting the standards for those who hope to be in their shoes one day.
