As you take the first step into the restaurant, you get a fresh smell of cooked meals and crispy goods. A spot that’s similar to other breakfast places, except even better. Another Broken Egg Cafe located here in Austin Texas, and in 14 other states, offers a southern-inspired creative cuisine that spikes your cravings.

The cafe was originally created in Old Mandeville, Louisiana by a man named Ron Green back in the mid to late 90’s. However during this time, it was named “Broken Egg Cafe”. Many customers loved the dishes that they offered as well as the atmosphere that was felt. Their restaurant had a French style to it and offered amazing platters that customers nearby couldn’t help but love. On one occasion, a customer asked for “another broken egg” to be opened, which expanded the whole brand. This cafe is known to be “One of the fastest growing brands in the day time growing segment”, as stated in their website. Its brand has had ongoing success for more than 20 years thanks to its distinctive menu items as well as a high frequency of visits received by their returning customers.

By 2017, they had changed their menu and people continued to love it. It’s safe to say that the restaurant has received nothing but positive feedback from their clients since their opening. Now they have expanded their way here into Austin, Texas which is run by Nathan and Lianne Straathof . They felt as though they wanted to spread their appreciation of Another Broken Egg Cafe’s foods and warmth throughout the Austin region. They were thrilled to open this restaurant in a location that serves excellent breakfast, brunch, and lunch with a southbound flair. As they were new to the Austin area, they instantly fell in admiration because of the endless social life, outdoor activities, amazing weather, and diverse culture. They ended up choosing to live here and wouldn’t choose to live where else. By operating the restaurant, they hoped to achieve their goals which is to help others and learn more about their neighborhood. It has once been named as one of the Best Restaurant Chains back in 2019 by FSR Magazine and as one of its Fast & Serious Smartest Growing Brand by Franchise Times.

The menu had several different options varying on breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. Since it was still early, I decided to get the Strawberry Pound Cake French Toast along with potatoes and egg on the side. At first, I was a bit worried that it’d end up being too sweet for me as it was nearly breakfast time. However, each item went along very well. The french toast wasn’t too sweet but also not too savory. The strawberries definitely added a hint of sweetness but not too much since it was already pretty sugary. I’d say these french toast were honestly the best ones i’ve tried as they didn’t come off too strong but also had a good hint of flavor in them. If you’re someone who prefers sweet food, these would definitely be a good pick for you. The potatoes and eggs were also well done and they tasted like any other regular potatoes and eggs that other restaurants would give out. I also got to try the strawberry lemonade spritzer. As someone who prefers sweet foods and drinks, the lemonade was too sweet in my opinion. After we added a bit of water to it, it definitely tasted a lot better but in the beginning, it tasted like pure sugary lemonade.

This restaurant has had years filled with success and I’d say it’s well deserved. The dishes mixed well with each other and I’d recommend this restaurant to others. It’s definitely not just another breakfast place.
