In the mood of trying different varieties of sandwiches? Well you can try out this new sandwich shop located near Mueller! Ike’s Love & Sandwiches serves all different types of sandwiches such as vegetarian sandwiches and your typical meat sandwiches. And, fun fact, these sandwiches are cleverly named after famous celebrities and movie figures!!

When we arrived at the site, the thing that stood out to us was the big purple signs, saying, “Take a big bite.” To be completely honest, we were indecisive of whether we should go in or not because we were unfamiliar with the place since it was brand new. It looked simple to us, but we wanted to try something new.

Once we walked in we got hit with the smell of unfamiliar smells. When the time came for us to order we were unsure of what to get. We weren’t given your typical order menu as other fast food places. We were overwhelmed and indecisive with the way the food options were presented. As we were looking over the big menu options on the wall, we noticed that there were all kinds of meats and even vegetarian options. In addition to us figuring out what to get, we had to search up the options, which took us a while.

As we made our final decision, one of the workers introduced themselves to us and asked us if we were ready to order. As we were ordering we had a hard time with pronouncing the names of our sandwiches, thankfully the worker was patient with us. We were given a variety of bread choices and asked us if we needed anything else. As one of us ordered, I successfully named the “Madison Bumgarner” sandwich, who is a World Series champion from 2012. When it was time to make the payment which came out to $22.34 and I had some difficulties with the bill. The worker gave me some attitude towards the end and the manager was called. After some time I was finally able to order, but she didn’t give me the receipt.

When it was the other person’s time to order, it came down to the “Bacon-side of you,” which included turkey, bacon, pesto, grilled tomatoes, and provolone. The sandwich alone was $12.95, but was ordered as a combo which was $4.00 more. The combo comes with a drink and any chips of our choice, which in total came out to $19.35 with tip included.

Once the worker gave us the order, we went to the soda dispenser to fill our cups with our desired drinks and went to get seated. As we were unwrapping our order we could smell the meat and the sauce. After taking the wrapper of the sandwich, they were already cut into two parts which was pretty nice and really helpful, not having to cut it ourselves due to the size of the sandwich. When we took our first bite, we were struck with the amount of sauce it had, but overall we would rate this place a 6.5 out of ten. The food was kinda pricey, but to an extent. Personally we agreed it’s the type of place we’d go once in a while to hang out with friends after school or just if we are craving a sandwich.
