Every August since 2018, the Baja Beach festival located in Rosarito, Mexico has gone on for three days. This festival hosts concerts by plenty of different artists near Rosarito Beach. There is a new set list of special artists announced every year. This year the headliners included Ozuna, Sean Paul, Ryan Castro, Dei V, Juan Summit, and Omar Courtz. Many concert lovers choose this as an opportunity for a getaway weekend listening to music they love with other festival perks.
I had the opportunity to attend the Baja Beach festival for the first time ever during August 7-9, 2026. For my first year, my experience went pretty smoothly. I got to meet a lot of new people, see my favorite artists, and meet influencers.
I bought my ticket five months before the actual festival. It was a bit confusing because they ship the wrist bands a week before the festival. The tickets were a bit high: I purchased VIP tickets, which were around $1000. General admission tickets were $300, and La Playa (the tickets that offered the most exclusive perks) were $1,800. I believe the VIP ticket was worth it because it gave me access to the front of the stage, after parties, better restrooms, and lounges.
When I arrived near Baja Beach I felt safe, even though Rosarito has a reputation as a dangerous city, because there was high security and scanners checking every person before entering the event. The atmosphere was fun and had positive vibes. Although I did notice there were a lot of scams such as vendors trying to charge tourists more money than they should. Attendees were required to pay with their wristbands in the festival, so it was somewhat annoying having to constantly recharge my wristband when I ran out of money and wanted to purchase something.
The festival was extremely fun because many artists were performing on the big stage. The Baja Beach Festival app reminded me of artists who were about to perform. I wanted to see who played at a certain time so I wouldn’t miss it. While other artists I didn’t know performed, I would go to the Ferris wheel which was worth the wait because of the view, or to the Glam Station to touch up my makeup, or to food spots.
“There were so many things to do and explore in just 3 days!” said Lizeth Garcia, my sister, who also attended.
I had a blast all 3 days and met new people who come from all over the world every year. “It is a fun experience for me and my husband to come here, we made it a tradition by now.” said Maria, a friend I met at the festival. It wasn’t all great for everybody, though. Many people reported getting their phones stolen and it was extremely packed especially when I walked past the general admission area. I noticed some people struggling to walk by without bumping into one another.
Overall, my experience was an 8/10 and I would attend again next year. I recommend Baja Beach Festival for those who love to travel to new cities, like to party, and enjoy concerts or raves.
